The insurance guy from the hospital where my mother passed away recently called and said, "Im sorry your mother expired, I need her insurance." I understand that hes only doing his job, and that he didnt know my mother. But why would you say that someone "expired"? Whether you knew them or not, and whether you say it at a job or not. My mother was not a piece of meat or dairy products. She was a living human being, and she did pass away, but she didnt expire. She was just simply sick. I just thought it was rude and wrong. Am I just overly sensitive because of what has happened? Or do you guys think that is a poor choice of words too? and BTW I did move out of town back in may just FYI for those who have emailed asking. and We just recently moved back on the first of august because my mother asked me too becausee she was too sick to take care of everything she was previously doing.

I think done people may have just been brought up saying that and it is fine to them. Your just emotional right now

Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your Mother. In the medical field, the word "expire" is just another word for " died". Please try not to take offense to this. This is a very difficult time for you and your family. God Bless You.

I am sorry for your loss. The term expired is what they teach the medical field to use. When i was in nursing school and learned that i literally about fell out of my chair. I am sure he meant no offense. May God Bless you and your family in your time of loss.
