Have you Ever been stationed in ft bliss, Texas ? How was is? What's it like down there ?  

lol ive never been to bliss but im coming from Hood to Sill.. and my husbands friend is stationed in Bliss and he said he likes it.. he likes it there more then he liked Hood.. but then ive heard ppl say they dont like it but hubbys friend and wife they love it.. is there where your going? 

Were going to ft. hood in a couple weeks... Can you tell me a bit about it down there? Is there anything to do? What is the best area's to be living in? Elementary Schools? Where should we not be around or companies that are not good? Etc... I have heard a lot of bad things about ft hood from people down there... That's why I'm asking so many questions. Thanks for all the help! 

Thanx for posting! We decided not to go there n go to Germany instend. Everyone we talked to had nothing nice to say about bliss. Lol! Anyways, fort hood is nice, love the place. It changed so much from when we were station there. Mollie I hope u gonna like Sill! There's nothing up here/ it's totally the opposite of hood so if u like hood/ like to party / go out n do all the fun stuff than u might be out of luck. Lol 

well i hate hood.. we got our tires slashed 4 times and we lived on post then when we moved off post didnt have one issue.. i wouldnt live on post again not in hood that is.. Copperas Cove is a really nice small town to live in not much crap goes on there.. i didnt hear anything bad about on post schools i know a couple kids that liked it.. so i cant say anything bad about em.. time warner sucks here.. had like 5 issues in less then 3 months and also there is a hoodundergroud go there the girls there are really nice and helpful most of them have more info about it then i do.. lol and Darnel ughf i hate it there.. takes FOREVER to get into the ER or even a dr appointment and if your Pregnant you better make you appointment before you get there cuz it will be like 3 months before you even get it.. to many pregnant women on there now.. including me lol.. thats why im glad im moving then im going to get an off post dr. 

Oh wow tires slashed! U must have some haters!!! Lol as for Emergency room, all military ERs are like that. Sill is even worst! I had my baby off post at south west n their really nice. But a friend of ours just gave birth here on post n the rooms are nicer, bigger n u get ur own room. It's must must nicer than Hood. I was with my sister last year when she had her baby n the room was amazingly small, I mean tooooo small. Lol! Anyways, good luck to both of you!! N congratz to you Mollie!!! 

Ft Bliss is an awesome duty station,, so much to do, so much culture, and definatley close enough to all kinds of things from skiing in ruidoso to mountain climbing. And for people who love food...it doesnt get better than that. lol :O) We PCS to Bliss in one month 

Sill could be better, but isn't the worst post to be stationed at!! I had my son at Reynolds in 07 and had a great experience. I hear that getting appts. to OB is hard now, but I saw a civilian doctor in Tx. my whole pregnancy. I only saw the doctor once at Reynolds before I delivered. The room was big, and I had a great doctor delivering there. Truthfully I was scared because of stories I heard, but I ended up happy. There is alot of drama in Lawton (look on here) but it is avoidable, just turn the other way if you meet people that start to bring it to you!! I actually have never had to wait too terribly long when going to the E.R. at Sill either. My biggest complaint here is there is more crime than I am used to and I come from DFW, Tx!!!! It can get crazy here. I do feel safe where I live though and I have had criminal problems in my neighborhood, but they are everywhere. I am ready to leave here for sure though, I just want a change of scenery!!
