Just wanted to pass this along to everyone... The City of Lawton now requires ALL construction crews/handymen/repairmen/ etc to have a City of Lawton license as well as insurance. Anyone, other than yourself, that works on your home is subject to a $5,000 fine PER PERSON if no one is certified or has insurance. Also...all home owners beware. People who do not carry insurance are a risk to YOU!! If any major damage occurs or "warrantee work" is not warranteed...you are forced to pay out of your pocket unless YOU want to go to court. Beware...there are plenty of scammers out there!! It is YOUR RIGHT to request to view their drivers license, license, and insurance...and it is YOUR RIGHT to verify insurance. The same goes with tree services. If you are going with people on the yard sale site I say look for someone who mentions they are insured. If they don't mention it, they probably aren't. Trust me...you may save a little money but the hassle down the road just ain't worth it!!!

No- just the workers will get fined. Any one on the job site without the license or the insurance. Both...not just one or the owner. The home owner just might be stuck with damages or incorrect corrections.
