I have been reading all the hate posts about Lawton. This is a Military town and 90 percent of the town is either active duty military or retired military. One would be hard pressed to find many people in this town that were born and raised and spent all their lives in this town. I for one am a transplant to this town due to the military. My point is most of people on this site complaining about the rudeness, stupidness, lack of caring are a part of you and your background. Some people choose to stay in this town after the military because of children stable in the schools or they have purchased a home and the cost of living is lower than most of your vary own home towns. so please take a look in the mirror before complaining and remember when you point one finger at others your pointing three back at yourself. Just a little something to think about. 

I totally beleive what ur saying but i do have to say it no where close that 90% of lawton is not from oklahoma i have am here because the military brought my family here when i was 2 but almost all the ppl I know Are from lawton and serounding areas and when u have lived here since u were 2 that is alot ppl

ok i stand corrected. there are only 37.6 percent of the people here in Lawton, oklahoma were born and raised here in this town according to the censis stats. Please forgive me as i have lived in this town since 1971 and only know of 2 families who are true okies. 

Well i was born in lawton and yes i am still here. did marry an army guy but went to germany and back and not military anymore and still here. Alot of people move away from Lawton and dont come back. I am a true okie and proud of it. I was born at ccmh in 1978.
