So, I need to get my 6mo old chi neutered. I have been taking him to the Animal Birth Control clinic for all his shots & wormer. They told me they would'nt be able to do it because his 'boys' have not dropped. So I will have to take him to an actual vet to get the big snip done. So what vet is the cheapest as far as that goes & doesn't have a LONG waiting list?? He is between 3 & 4lbs if that matters. Thanks!!

ive talked to meadowview and midtown(i think is the name) thye both made me wait till 6mos but i went with the
mid(?) one they r always so nice my dog is a whole lot bigger then urs (hes 45-50lbs) so u may want to call about prices
some r online
w their prices

Actually TC, if neither one of his "manhood gems" have dropped, he is not able to produce puppies. It's kinda like he's already neutered. This is also not a time to ask for a cheap vet. That surgery is very delicate and requires probably paying alittle more to see that he makes it thru the neuter. You will pay for what you get. I've seen males die because someone used a cheap vet to do this kind of surgery.

It's not really about making sure he can't reproduce because he is 'an only child'. But I socialize him w/ my friends' dogs on occasion(take him w/ me to BBQ's or pet sit for them) and when he finds a 'lady' he gets ALL excited and his thing and his boys come out & wont go back in w/ out assisitance and it hurts him pretty bad until they do! I was'nt looking for a cheap way to go about it persay, I just don't really know much about the vets up here because I have only dealt w/ the ABC.

Midtown Animal Hospital
is the only place i will take my pup he just lost his boys ( thats what we call them dont want the 2 yr old going around saying the other names lol)
it was really reasonable and they did blood reports and everything and at his 10 day check up the bathed him had him all pretty for me when i came to pick him up that afternoon
Not sure if the prices are different for the different sizes of dogs but i paid about between 130-150 i chose some extras when scheduling cause i wanted to make sure everything was in order so i think i paid a little more then normal
I've never heard of assisting a dog w/ his red rocket problems and that can still happen even after they have been neutred my sis-in-law dog still had a little red rocket man everyonce in a while havent ever noticed it with trip even before he lost his boys

I thought you had a yorkie female TC?? Neutering him won't stop the red rocket if he does it to show affection to a new dog. I've seen males have red rockets to their human owners. Just says they're happy to see ya LOL.

Sweet,
I haven't heard of it too much either. In 8 yrs I've seen one male on one occassion have his lipstick swell(since air makes it swell) to the point he couldnt get it back in. But the only assistance required was keeping it clean and lubbing it so air couldn't get to it and the swelling could go down.

Well maybe I just jump the gun, I just hate seeing him screech in pain and not be able to walk. & Brandy my Yorkie got hit by a car right in front of our house & my 4yr old. =(
