I have noticed that the new neither published the name of the woman who murdered this hero nor did they bother to give him the press he deserved. Of all the articles I read, I am to understand that the woman who hit him didn't receive any type of ticket or citations. HOW IS THIS SO? How did this woman NOT see a car not only STOPPED but being PUSHED by TWO MEN? Shame on this woman. What was she doing that was SO IMPORTANT that she took a mans life. An American HEROES life! She took this man away from his children and his wife...for what? A text? A phone call? Make up application? I feel like the public and the family deserve to know what exactly he sacrificed his life for and then I believe this woman should be punished to the max. Sorry...living with the guilt is not enough. The wife and children are living with enough guilt along with the fact that they will never have that man to talk to, hug, or anything else EVER again. I think the citizens of Lawton need to make a bigger fuss. This soldier, Everett McClellan, deserves justice as does his family. He should not have left this earth to early. Rest in peace, Soldier. May your death open the eyes of others. (And can I also say that I was APPALLED at how ridiculous the memorial was on Base for SFC McClellan! As a retired soldier and veteran I have to say that they not only disrespected this hero, but also his family. Shame on all of you at Fort Sill that partook in this horrendous memorial.)

Princess write to your local news station and newspapers. post this on local forums. Spread it by word of mouth. Contact the police station. Bring it to everyone's attention...it is all I am able to recommend.

Ya know I think its jacked up she didn't get punished BUT the fact he was a soldier really doesn't come into play here. He was murderd she should be punished for that... not because he's a murderd soldier.... unless of course they prove she targeted him for this fact Just seems to me you are harping more on his JOB being the reason for punishment rather then her crime.

that is so sad. I cant believe some one ran into him while he was helping someone push their car. WOW where did this happen exactly. Also how could the driver not even be slammed with manslaughter. Or even a ticket. She must have been either driving too close (tailgating) or not paying attention or both and didn't have enough time react..either way those are both against the law when driving. When someone hits you in the back of your car you know there insurance will pay because it was 9 out of 10 times your fault so if you hit someone from behind and kill a person actually behind the vehicle as well how could you not be held responsible. I mean she should receive 5 years probation at the very least and I use that word very loosely. "HERE" I agree if my father or brother died in that way or any way really that was s not a natural cause of death although they are not soldiers I Would like for them to have justice and to have people fight for there rights and so on. I Just think that JUSTJACK feels since this is a military home town that the base should have done more for the soldier. I mean seriously they didn't even give his memorial much consideration as he puts it. The base should stand up for their soldiers and there soldiers families. Just my opinion...

When I say base I mean the MILITARY organization as a whole. just thought I would include that because i read it and though " what the hell am I talking about" the base should stand up the base is an environment...lol

Here- I guess it did come across this way. My feelings are that both this "city" and the military did him wrong. How he was killed was murder, in my eyes. The woman should be charged of such...her guilt is not enough punishment. The city of Lawton failed him by not pursing this appropriately. As for the military, they failed him in his memorial service. They failed him by wearing their uniforms inappropriately, but inviting his ex wife behind his wives back and then putting the ex by the wife. They failed him for calling his name during the line up and then back tracking when they realized he was the one the memorial was for. They talked more about how awesome that unit was then how awesome of a soldier that man was. The Army forgot who the memorial was for. It just makes me sad that this man served in combat yet died here in such a ridiculous accident. If that makes any sense at all. A death caused by complacency and neglect. It is bad no mtter what way you look at it, know what I mean?

TheBrooksFamily- It happened on Flowermound and Lee in the beginning of January. Here are some of the articles for you: A former AnySoldier contact SFC Everett McClellan was killed Thursday, January 7th, when he stopped to help a stranded motorist and was struck by another car. SFC McClellan was currently a field artillery instructor at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following are news clips: 1/8/2010 12:51:00 AM Sill soldier dies helping push stalled vehicle MALINDA RUST A Fort Sill soldier who stopped on the side of the road in southwest Lawton Thursday morning to help a stalled motorist was killed when another driver struck him while pushing the other car to safety. Lawton Police Capt. Rusty Wright said 38-year-old Everett McClellan died at the scene of the collision, which happened about 7 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest Flower Mound Road and East Lee Boulevard. McClellan and another passerby, Chad Witten, 34, stopped when they came across an SUV stalled in the eastbound lane of Lee Boulevard. They decided to try and push the vehicle off the road to the right shoulder. McClelland was behind the driver's window pushing and had his back to the centerline of the road when a 57-year-old woman in a 2008 Chevy HHR came from the rear and crushed him between her car and the SUV, Wright said. Officials said McClelland died instantly. 1/8/2010 12:52:00 AM 'Thank you' last words Good Samaritan heard MALINDA RUST The last words Everett McClellan heard were "thank you," accompanied by a new friend's handshake, just minutes before he died Thursday. That new friend was Chad Witten. Both were on the road to home; only one made it there, and another life was scarred by the tragedy. "I knew him for about a minute," Witten said in an interview Thursday evening with The Lawton Constitution. "I thought at first when he got out of the car to come help me that he was a man from our church, Austin Bell." McClellan definitely was not Bell, and, at that time, was a stranger. After the wreck, Austin Bell was the one who first stopped to help Witten until emergency personnel arrived. Witten said he stopped Thursday morning to help a couple stranded in the middle of East Lee Boulevard, near Flower Mound Road, simply because he believes he should help people if he can. 1/9/2010 1:15:00 AM Details given of soldier who was killed MALINDA RUST The Fort Sill soldier who died Thursday while helping a stranded motorist has been identified as Sgt. 1st Class Everett McClellan, 38. Fort Sill officials officially released his rank and other details of his military service Friday as his family and friends shared their grief via social networking Web sites. McClellan, who joined the U.S. Army right after graduating from high school in 1990, was assigned to Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery as an instructor, according to Fort Sill Public Information Officer Emily Kelley. McClellan died instantly at the scene of the accident, which happened around 7 a.m. near Southeast Flower Mound Road and East Lee Boulevard, according to Lawton police. He had pulled over to help another man push a couple's stalled SUV to the shoulder of Lee Boulevard's eastbound lanes. And BrookeFamily- you are right...in many ways the military failed him. As a military town the puruence should be pushed more.
