So I was browsing CL today and I was looking in the computer section. Someone is trying to sell a dell desktop computer for $400. BUT the down fall is they are saying its only a couple of years old. First off I know its not because of the way its built, Dell has MAJORLY changed their desktop look. Second they phased out the floppy drives in 2003! So therefore they either bought it used or bought it new and are trying to get rid of it. Then trying to throw in a webcam for 10 bucks.....i will go buy a new one for that or maybe a lil more money! Seriously I hope ppl do some research before they just buy this crap! 

So true! i bought my dell desk top brand new from walmart for 799.00..pay the xtra money and get it brand new! 

Exactly! I mean you get what you pay for! Although I wont be purchasing another HP computer ever again! We bought one in 07 from best buy and like 2 years later the motherboard burnt out! We paid almost $2000 for the dang thing! 

lol Amber i saw the computer u were referring to and i lmao! that looks so janky and why would u sell a computer and offer to throw the speakers in for 10 but the web cam is free? it looked like the hard drive was old and maybe the only recent thing on it is the monitor and thats pushing it lol. my computer is a few years old...well i got it last spring and it looks nothing like that thank god!! lol...some ppl i swear 

EXACTLY! Its RIDICULOUS! I mean come on....how many new computers do you see these days with floppy drives and big bulky towers?! 

I just sold an old Compaq for 50, but I had upgraded a ton of stuff and loaded extra programs on it I would not have dreamed of selling it for any more. People are crazy adn greedy 

yeah they are sharon. Its ridiculous! I mean they even tried to tell me that they bought it brand new in 07. But if you look up when Dell phased out floppy drives it was back in 03. I doubt you can even have them special ordered on there anymore. And the tower is one of those big bulky ones not the newer slim ones. 

Oh get this the person told me that it wasnt a floppy disk drive it was a a: drive......LMAO! Look it up on a comp and A: drive is ALWAYS a floppy drive. If you go look at the pics of it ANYONE that has been around computers KNOWS that is a floppy drive! 

Lol, it sounds like you guys are screaming at each other! A floppy drive? Last time I saw one of those I was in high school...8 years ago! $400 for a computer with an Adrive? They must be out of their mind, unless it was a typo and they were actually asking $40...yeah, doubt it. It seems to me that some people are actually trying to make a living out of CL and bookoo...

Nah not screaming at each other....it just REALLY irks me that some ppl try to sell the stuff they do without doing some research first. I mean my mom bought me an external floppy drive for my laptop in 05 and I think I used it a handful of times. So why in 07 would you supposedly need to add that?! I mean shoot some younger kids these days prolly dont even know what a floppy drive is! LOL! 

I saw the same item on CL.. They're crazy if they think someone is going to buy an old computer for that amount. Heck you can pick one up brand new for $399.00 It may not have alot of stuff on it. But it would be brand new. lol 

Haha this is way to true and way to funny.. I was going to buy a computer from someone online through CL because we thought it was nice and the price was decent went to the store and bought a brand new one for 150 dollars cheaper.. Let just say we went that route.. There was NO WAY were going to by one that was used and as they said "couple nicks" when we could buy a brand new one for ALOT cheaper.. PPL just are CRAZYY 

You can go buy a good LAPTOP at that price! I think honestly that they did something to it and just dont want the headache of it. I would save that 400 and save a lil more and by a Toshiba. I have had my Toshiba laptop for 5 years and it has been to iraq and still runs like a true champ! 

Oh I agree on the Toshiba. My first laptop was a Toshiba satellite and it lasted me 6 years without giving me any trouble. I think I paid $500 or so for it back in 04 and I just got rid of it a lil while ago. If you buy smart you can buy a good computer for under $500 

Yeah I have accidentally dropped mine several times and being Iraq in all that heat...its a MIRACLE it survived. After I get out of Nursing school I am going to upgrade mine. I am hoping I can talk my mom into getting me one. The one I have now does the job but its just about time for a new one. I have a Toshiba Satellite and my mom paid almost a grand for it. But It has has served its job. We got an HP desktop in 07 from best buy and the mother board COMPLETELY fried itself. So that dang $1200 computer is having to sit at my uncles until I can get a new Mother new one! So I am thinking of getting that after school too and a new laptop that way I will be good to go! 

I love my toshiba satellite. it was the hubby's and he broke the screen adn when he came down on orders to re deploy he bought a new HP and I hate that one. This one tho has been to Iraq and had the screen broken, then used as a desktop with my bigger monitor. I finally got the screen fixed and use it all the time(probably too much lol). I hate that new computer. It is way too big and so glad he has to have that one and not me lol.
