Ok so I'm really pissed so forgive me if I get a potty mouth. I recently took in a pit pup(8mo) she's a blue & has papers. I have people pressuring me to breed her, one actually got mad at me because I have scheduled her to get fixed!! I believe his exact words were "you'll ruin her!" How am I ruining a dog by getting her fixed?! We are not going to keep her, I only took her because her owner was so fed up he just wanted her gone & I didn't want her to go to just anyone! So I'm getting her fixed so whoever she goes to can't just use her to spit out pups!! Then today my 'friend' tells me I need to feed her a certain kind of dog food to "bulk her up"! WTF!! WHY? Just cuz she's a freakin pit she has to look like she's on steroids!? I'm an animal LOVER & I REALLY hate to sterio type dog breeds but I do because of the freakin idiots that own these dogs & don't give a sh!t enough about them to even treat them decent!! They just want them to be killing machines! Then someone tells me "Oh, my dogs are good with kids, they just don't like adults!" Like the dog REALLY knows the difference between an 18 year old & a 10 year old!! I'm so pissed I could scream!! Then they wanna talk about how they will shoot the dog if it tries to attack them, umm HELLO, YOU are the one who strapped weights to the dog so it would bulk up & taught it to attack!! Like I said we can't keep her but I think it is TOTAL BS that I have to go through this LONG, thorough process & actually get to know the person who wants her(after I get her fixed) because I'm scared of what someone might turn her into!! Then there is the money issue! O man I've heard it all, "breed her, those pups would make you a lot of money!" "Sell her to a breeder, they will pay good money for her" "She's not worth anything if you get her fixed" OMG!!! I don't care about the money, I care about her & what kind of life she is gonna have after she walks out of my front door!! O man... 

u have a right to be upset....its all about how a pit or how any dog is raised and what kind of environment they come from like mine...i had a black and white pit. beautiful girl named Dixie. She was friendly, never bit anyone (played rough tho lol)and stayed by my side throughout my pregnancy and after my daughter was born, she stayed by her side as well. My dog one day happen to get into another fight with another pit and well lets just say she lost. Of course dogs have the instinct to protect themselves but i guess my dog had the disadvantage because she had a normal life...u know like not having to wear chains, weights, run a treadmill, play with bait dogs. so needless to say, she got her ear torn off and her face got messed up so she had all these permanent scars all over her face so yeah now she looked like an abused fighting dog.

So, TC i say kudos to u for getting her fixed. that prevents future problems from even happening. She may not be worth $hit to a breeder or one who fights dogs but to the right family, she will be priceless.

Thank you, it just makes me so angry that people treat dogs like that, really breaks my heart. She does play rough but the only time she has hurt anyone is when she knocks em down to attack them w/ her tongue! I'm so sorry that happened to your baby, it's really sad what people turn these beautiful dogs into. 

omg and when they get their tag waggin like 100 mph and its banging against bare legs...ouch! lol

they can't all be saved but just remember...u made a difference in that girls life by rescuing her :) 

People dont get it, just because your dog has papers does not mean it should be bred. Way to go TC :-) You have the right intentions for that baby!! JUST IGNORE THE IDIOTS AROUND YA!! 

Thanks for the kind words, I'm still ver much pissed off, everything just festered throughout my day. I'm having a party 2nite and one of the people who said some of those things is gonna be here...SO not looking forward to more of his STUPID remarks about pits. Pretty sure I will go off on him..maybe that's exactly what I should do! =) 

UPDATE!! I got her fixed and found a home for her!! The lady that is getting her is actually a vet w/ another pit, she will have a GREAT home!! *Happy Dance*!!!!
