Can you believe all the recalled items Fisher Price just announced today! Over 10 million toys!!! Items I see on here all the time. The last big suprising recall was the Jungle theme portable swing and all the cribs, I mean every drop down rail crib!! Cmon!!! And it's always the China made things. Soon enough what will we have left? I wish we could afford to just manufacture our own products they seem to be safer thanks to our government systems strict guidlines. 

Yeah I read about it; had to throw away a couple of my son's toys...he did not take it well.

The US most definitely can afford to manufacture all sort of things. But it's cheaper, in a matter of speaking, to outsource and import. Getting things manufactured in China is cheaper because the lower wage standards. Same in Mexico. Look at the auto industry, most of the cars sold in the US are made somewhere else, even the so called "American Cars". A vehicle only needs to have 30% American parts to be called American. I know it's ridiculous but that's how it is.

Also, the US want to keep using China as it's dumping site so I doubt it will ever stop doing business with the country. A shame really but it's business.
