Does anyone know where we can adopt a soldier for the holidays?
We just PCS'd here so we don't really know how things are done here.
Oh and for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
An information would help.

i dont know were you can do that but you can adopt our military family if you want to just let me know we do need help this year 

Ok this rubbed me the wrong way. Did you really just ask someone to adopt your family for the holidays? They are asking about adopting a soldier, who may be away from their family, so they can have a holiday meal in the warmth of their home. And you have the balls to 'offer' your family to them? Sell your computer. Cut off your Internet. Tada- you've helped yourself. 

Well,my family and I wanted to adopt a soldier that can't be with their family this holiday season.
My husband was once in their shoes.

Nikki- we all need help. Luke I said, cancel you internet and sell the computer, there's helping yourself by cutting out a bill and electronic you DON'T NEED. even if I needed help, I would NEVER suggest to someone that they could adopt me when clearly they were looking to adopt a soldier away from family--NOT a family of 5!

to the person on the adopt a soldier god will bless you and thank you for thinking of us soldiers and to the nikki you shouldnt be afraid to ask for help you can feed a mouth if its closed and other people need to stay out of your business 

@ Malulani - You are so sweet!(if you are wanting to send a package) My husband is deployed right now with a young man who grew up in the foster care system and has no one! My family has been sending him things to help him cope, but if you are looking for someone who REALLY has no one else and is deployed he would be the one! He is such a sweet guy but just alone! Just let me know! 

WOW is all I can say to all that but anyway to the question I don't know about programs but what do every year is take in my husband's single soldiers for the holidays or to ask around his motorpool but you could do his company or whatever and see if anyone would like to join you and your family without calling it adopting. You can also talk to your frg I know there are programs within the army that help those who can't afford things not sure how it would work for you but Nikki maybe you could look into them I know last year our unit helped get turkeys for those who signed up. Good luck 

Nikki- I thought you were the one collecting things to help out other families in need? You could probably pass those names along, or help her get in contact with one. Unless they soldier's families. 

Check with Operation Homefront(local), Soldiers Angels(TX), Your husbands command or even teh Battalion he is in. There are plenty of single soldiers who do not go home and could probably use some help and company for the holidays.
