This crappy pet store will sell you fish and tell you they won't get any bigger than they were at time of purchase, 2 inches... (actual adult size is 7 inches)
They will say you can buy 5 of them and put them all in a 29 gallon tank... (each fish needs 30 gallons by itself, minimum)
They will tell you they are perfectly fine for a freshwater tank... (they need brackish water cycled to full marine water by adulthood)
They won't take 4 of the 5 fish back 1 day after purchase to resell for double their profit... (after reading about the fish i wanted to GIVE 4 of them back because i did not want the fish to suffer and die)
All these people want is your money
They don't care about you or their product
Will never return to this pet store
Will shop at M&M petstore from now on (they took the other 4 that Fins & Critters would not, quarantined them for 24 hours and they are now swimming happily in their store)
I always try to read up and get information on any animal I am interested in buying before I make a purchase, because a lot of times, the people at the pet store really don't know much about the animals they are selling. We were sold a sick kitten once at a pet store, and not more than one week after bringing it home, it died. We hadn't known it was sick when we bought it, but found out within that week. They wouldn't refund us. That was in a different state.
I heard M&M was pretty good. Fins and Critters has been around for a LONG time, and I would imagine they have had quite a few different employees that didn't know what they were doing there.
I will always by my supplies from F $ C. M&M jack their prices WAY up. They wanted to sell me a heat lamp bulb for 35.00. Are you crazy!!!! I bought the same exact one at fins and critters for 15. I needed a new heater - price checked, way lower at fins and critters.
You should NEVER buy cats or dogs from a pet store. That is a given. They are most likely from mills and have genetic malformations and are usually sick.
yes, I figured that out the hard way. This was...oh...goodness, about 8 years ago in Alabama. I think the laws have changed some. Since then, we are a shelter pet type family. I feel that if I am going to buy an animal, I feel that is the best place to find a deserving pet.

I actually I bought my first chihuahua from M&M pet shop in may 2009, still have him and he was and still is perfectly healthy. They get their chihuahuas from local breeders. I have my chiahuas papers from when I bought him, I had the option of registering him but I never did and had him neutered. In his papers it shows his pedigree and the number and address to the breeder that sold him to the pet store. And I know the breeder is a real breeder because 2 years before I bought my chihuahua from M&M my mom got one of her chihuahuas from the same breeder. She stopped doing it as a hobby and has a litter every now and then to my knowledge. All the dogs at M&M have had at least 1 set of puppy shots and are worm and parasite tested and have shot records. I paid 479 for my chihuahua from M&M and yes the price was high but he was an impulse buy and I am still happy with him. hes almost 2 and a half.
My mom has bought tons of fish n product from f&c and they have never had any problems and when they brought home some fish they were told they had 24 hrs if they died they would get there money back n f&c did what they promised.goodluck!
