I'm wanting to start scrapbooking. I'm looking at these scrapbooking lots on the bookoo page by username crafting guru. There is a lot of stuff in the lots. I looked at Hobby Lobby and JoAnnes and their prices seems fair. I emailed asking for more information and they gave me a better list of everything that was available, said that they bought a lot of the stuff online, like some albums and papers and stuff, and it wasn't available locally and they still had most of the original receipts if I wanted them. Do you think what they are asking is fair? What would you pay for all? I guess it is a lot of money up front, but when you think about it I'd be saving money plus I'd have it all at once, you know? A good starting base. You scrapbookers, is this a good purchase idea for me?

Eh, I wouldn't buy the whole kit-n-kaboodle. In my opinion, the prices are a little high for a 'yard sale' site. But I'm not saying to not buy it b/c of that. I wouldn't, especially if you are just starting out, b/c you probably won't use 70% of it. She didn't. If you see a lot that you know you have pictures for, like your family went to the beach this year and she has a beach themed lot or just a neutral lot that can basically apply to all pictures, then go for that. And don't overwhelm yourself by going through and buying lots to match every thing you want to scrapbook. All the elements of scrapbooking are meant to be thought out and at first, it'll take some time. You don't want to feel rushed with all that hanging over your head, especially with that dent in your wallet. You are also sacrificing some degree of personal preference. I've seen her lots, she has great taste but you may like stickers or stamps you find at Hobby Lobby much better and it would be worth the extra dollar or two but you're once again left feeling that dent. Plus Hobby Lobby puts their stuff on sale all the time. Good sales, too. I like to keep a base of paper and then buy my stickers as I go to compliment my pictures instead of taking a picture b/c it'll go great with a certain sticker. I hope that made sense. Good luck, scrapbooking is fun once you realize it's your scrapbook and it doesn't matter what others think, not even me :)

She has a really good collection of stuff OP. I do scrapbooking and know whats what pretty good in the scrapbooking supplies locally. Ima frequent flier at the local hobby lobby and joannes you could say. (LOL) I looked at her stuff last week and she definately didnt scrimp on her supplies. Lots of the stuff you cannot buy locally but some if it you can. She also offered up her receipts to me to and she had a bunch from amazon.com, scrapbooking.com, hobby lobby and joannes. Comparing it to those and seeing that the items are all new her prices are way more then fair. I bought 4 small lots (and she made me a combo deal so it was cheaper which was cool) and if some of her lots are still available on the 1st and I have the money available because no extra biulls come up I'm planning on buying more. if you plan on really getting into screapbooking itis a good investment to have extra stuff. Sometimes it helps with ideas too. When looking at her stuff she showed me one of the scrapbooks she just did for her gparents 50th anniversary and wow! She had handrawn pages that were out of this world and she had this scrapbooking canvas thing that she made to display at her gparents anniversary party that was just wow. She might show you some tricks or give you tips. She offered me some and it is stuff you dont read about it books. She is major crafty and I couldbnt believe she was getting rid of it all but she said she is starting college in the fall and she has to get rid of distractions. Guess she prefers scrapbooking to schoolwork? (LOL) If you have any scrapbooking questions pm me.
