and I remember a post earlier about someone on bookoo trying to sell their dog. On my dog's paper, it had said that she had been dropped of by a family because she put her paws on the counter tops. Let me inform you that she is only 5 months old. I understand that some people don't have the will-power to train a dog to behave, but I guess I'm just too much of a dog-lover to completely agree with dropping her off at the pound.

By the way, Hi, I'm Courtney. I just moved here about a month ago and just recently found this site.

Hi Courtney. That is sad that some people would drop off dogs for something so minor, but some people just get a pet thinking it will automatically be perfect, and that isn't the case. All animals need some sort of training if they are going to be a pet, and that takes patience.

We have had to take animals to the shelter before, but never for something like that. It was due to the animal trying to attack my children or guests to the house. We took in a chihuahua at one time, having been told that she was good with children and other people. We found that wasn't the case. She constantly tried to bite anyone that came through our door, and we would have to keep her kenneled while we had any company over or when I had clients over to get portraits done. I drew the line when she snapped at my youngest and bit his face (just nipped, but scared him and drew blood).

Speaking of pets and shelters, on the news tonight, they said there are 11 dogs that are in the shelter in Altus, and they desperately need to be adopted, because the shelter is closing. If the dogs aren't adopted, then they could face being put to sleep.

I can understan that situation, no one wants a vicious dog. It's just crazy, I'm sitting here looking at one of the most sweetest, easy-going dogs, I've ever met. I just can't believe that person didn't want her.

If I had a house and land, I'd adopt them.

Where on post is the shelter? Is it at the vet's office? I would like to adopt a shelter pet if possible before looking elsewhere. :)

Thanks in advance

it's across the street from the vet's office, you have to be really paying attention or you think it's just another building. haha
