....Is it just me or is there a lot of things on SYS lately that are just over priced?! I think the name of the site is Sill YARD Sales, not amazon or ebay or even wal-mart. I am willing to pay a good price for something but when I can pay a few dollars more and go to the store and get it I will just go buy it new.
I couldnt agree with you more, A bookoo seller recently put up a Wii for sale and posted for people to make an offer since she thinks her price was to high and i made her an offer and she replys back to me and says that I am cheap and should go buy one at walmart. What a B*$!!! if she didnt want anyone to make an offer then why would she post it. what an idot!!!!
Exactly! I mean if you are selling clothes or shoes and you say they have never been worn make sure you are telling the truth because pictures tend to show wear and tear and if you have wore it. But then dont ask like an outrageous price when you can spend like 10 bucks extra and get it brand new.
Amber,
I think many sellers have caught up with the tendency of some buyers to offer half of what they ask so they anticipate and proce it high...or, they are just greedy. It could be good because they eventually end up getting what they really wanted and bad because they stuff doesn't sell as fast or not at all.
Personally, I don't mind paying a few bucks left than at the stores, $10-$15 because at least I am not paying taxes and I don't have to deal with the hassle of going to the store, but when I know that the stuff is blalantly overprice, I just laugh to myself; I spend a lot of time in store to see what things cost.
I know what Wii you guys are talking about! I offered her $165 and pick up right away and she sais it was too low! Seriously? For a used Wii? I'm sorry but a used Wii at Game stop is $150, and I can get all the other thingsthat came with it really cheap. I was just being nice and thought I was making a good offer but whatever.
That's why I just buy on bookoo, saves me the headache. Stuff I don't need I just donate it.
i saw her AD the first day it came out...i think it said somewhere between 300-350? im not sure but i remember it being alot...i guess some ppl think someone will pay the money if they want it bad enough *shakes head*
victoria,
That is a different one, the one I made the offer to is $220, the one you are referring to is indeed $350...and they are both still unsold...I just thought of it this way to, why would I pay that much for a Wii when there ins an xbox 360 and a ps3 both with tons of things for under $250?
Both still unsold? im apaulled...lol
Alot of buyers aren't given the benefit of the doubt. Alot think the same way and do alot of comparing...i know i do
I sold my wii and lots of stuff to go iwth it. I priced it at 175 and itwas gone that night. I had 4 people waiting, hoping the 1st would no show lol. That was almost 2 years ago and it was only a year old. I would not pay that much for that either. I laughed at the one for 350. No wonder it is not sold
Actually the reason why most people and I am one of them like to put my prices high is because when you do post them cheap people always want to go lower and its freaken annoying.
If I have namebrand clothes in great condition and asking $1 a piece or sometimes less why do you need to ask me to go even lower. he!! the prices for these clothes are sometimes 10X that price if not more. thats why sometimes I put them a bit pricey.
When I do price them cheap everyone still makes offers.. I mean its rediculous so in order to get what i want for them I have to ask for a lot for them in most cases I have to ask $2 a piece to get the $1 I originally wanted..
Are you serious, someone asked you to take less than $1 for something? C'mon! The gas the person would spend to go pick up the item would be more than that! Wow...
Sometimes I don't know what to ask! For example, I have an Atari, with all cords, over 5 controlers/joysticks, and 27 games. I looked all over online to see what it was worth. I am asking $150, because of what I saw online, but part of me seems that it is waaaay to high because people could buy a newer game for that price or loser (heck...I got my PS2 with Rockband and several games for $100!!) but then again, people always extremely low ball. Sometimes it is really hard to judge how much we should ask for. :(
yes I promise she asked me to take less. I just told her no. I mean its name brand and normally name brand clothes for kids are sold on here for like $3 a piece so the fact that I was asking $1 each I thought was pretty fair. and my jeans that are armband for my daughter Im asking $2.50 each so 10 for $25 and someone today asked me if I would take $10 for my 10 toddler jeans. I was like OMG are you serious are your kids not worth the extra few bucks I mean these cost at a minimum $0 each at the store. I told her I would go to $20 thats $2 each and she was like no thats way over priced and she could buy them cheaper. I was like not to be rude but go ahead and buy them somewhere else because thats the lowest Im going to go. I just get so annoyed sometimes. I like offers but not half or less from what Im asking. I buy my kids jeans on here and if they are posted for $3 I buy them and thats it. I think $3 is better than $10 for old navy and $20 for their brands and maybe even $4 to $5.
I mean I purchased those gap jeans that lady had all 4 for $15 and I thought that was a good price and t hose were size 2T and form me you can get $10 for just $5 more than what I paid.
Im sorry I was just annoyed and felt like complaining...lol... does anyone else think that Im asking too much money for my toddler clothes. I mean geese if its less than half of what it cost at the store and in very good to great condition then I think its a deal. but thats just me I guess...lol
i've seen the listings on ur clothes/items and ur clothes and shoes look like they are well taken care of and in excellent shape so i think ur prices are more than fair. i'd buy alot of ur items but my daughter is past those sizes lol.
Thank you Victoria. Im so glad someone at least agrees with my prices. Actually I sold so many items and at asking price. Practically all my girls shoes sold and they never asked me to take less as well as the 3T lots. I even had a lady give me an extra $5 for the clothes she purchased from me. Im so happy they have been selling well. I tried to price them at what I think someone would be willing to buy them at. I know myself personally I wouldve been willing to pay more but thats just me I would go as high as up to 50% of the cost in the store.
I m going shopping this weekend to buy my little ones some summer stuff Im so excited.
Did anyone go to the JBF sale today? I did they had some nice stuff but overall I was disappointed. I found a few of the clothes came with stains and they wouldnt take less I had to pay the asking price... so that was disappointing and I found the items a bit pricey. Old navy and gap jeans were $5 each some even $7 and the t-shirts some were $3 to $5. I just found it pricey. I did find a few gap shirts for $2 and TCP. I did buy a whole bag full of stuff so I guess I cant really complain but I just thought last years was way better. Either that or all the good stuff was gone since this morning because I wasnt able to make until this afternoon.
Well Im looking forward to next weeks post garage sale... My hubby even said hes going with me so it should be fun.
Seriously everyone of you people needs to get a life. If you didnt like my price than dont buy it!!! It was almost brand new with warranty plus the two games and three that were downloaded... I paid over 300 for all of it.
$199 wii
$50 warranty
$130 games
And just so you all know i got what i was asking for. People on here want stuff for practically nothing. Again IF YOU DONT LIKE MY PRICES DONT BUY IT. If you can get it cheaper somewhere else than be my guest... But i seriously doubt that you will find a wii and everything that i was offering with it for that price
If you read through some other posts, there is a general concensus that people will only pay what they think it is worth. None of us thought it was worth that. The girls here were talking about making you an offer and you declining. If you dont like what htey have to say, then they are all going to tell you not to read.
And yes there have been plenty of wii, ps3, xbox 360 for way less than you had yours. When you purchase something it automatically depreciates be it a video game system or a car or a house. You can not expect to get out of something what you put into it. if that was the case wal mart would go out of business.
Obviously i realized that the first time i posted it i priced it high but i dropped the price. If they want to go pay full price at walmart more power to them but i posted it trying to get atleast some of my money back and if you didnt like what i posted than you didnt have to read it either... I will say it AGAIN IF YOU DIDNT LIKE THE PRICE THAN DONT BUY IT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!
You know Sharon I was posting on here talking about prices and never did I even mention your WII. I never even noticed it was posted on bookoo. But yet you say everyone on here needs to get a life when not everyone talked about your item.
Needless to say you are very rude and although I had nothing to do with this you can guarantee that I will do all I can to never buy anything from you. You come on here and attack everyone that wrote on this post without cause. Im sure you have found someones items over priced and complained about it. Maybe not on the internet but its the same difference except the women on here dare to say what they think out loud.
there are ways to express your self when someone is talking about your items and being snoddy and rude is one of them but not the best approach. Ive had people on here complain about my prices and I just went and lowered them since these people on here are our customers and if they dont like the price chances are it will not sell.
Ladies whats her screen name please so I can put it on my do not buy from list please... Thanks
You know what Susan, I actually took your advise and went somewhere else and got twice the items for $100 less than what you were asking, so thank you for the advice!
Ok, sarcasm aside, if you didn't read, and it seems you didn't, we weren't just talking about you on this thread; your Wii happened to be mentioned because it was overpriced; other items were mentioned as well. With you being such an @ss I'm surprised your crap is selling; maybe is because people don't know how you really are so thank you for showing your rude colors; now I know one more person I won't be buying from.
iamcleaningouthouse,
i usually go to pennys for my daughters clothes, a few weeks ago they had a doorbuster sale and i got like 11 outfits and a pair of shoes for my daughter. i saved more than what i paid so that was exciting lol...the cashier was like u saved 82 dollars and an extra 15 from the ad...i was like hellz yeah!
Ok no need for the personal nasty messages to be sent to me. I never said I had a problem with someone making an offer i said I get annoyed when someone asks me to take less when its already a $1 and it also bothers me when someone is constantly offering half of what I posted it for. I get many emails everyday from almost the same people asking if I would take half of what I asked for. I mean come on everyday and the same people. Not everything i post is over priced.
You dont need to be reading far into my comment I like offers and I also give them but I dont try to take advantage of anyone i offer what i can afford and if i can afford asking price then thats what Iw ill pay. I purchased plenty pf stuff from people and never asked them to take less but when times are hard I do ask them but if they have an item for $20 and it cost $60 at the store I dont ask them to take $10 or $5 for it. thats the difference. Sorry that you took what i said the wrong way but seriously grow up those messages you sent ne off line were unnecessary.
sorry for the grammar errors Im in a hurry
