My sister got one when she was about 7 or 8 and she still has it and she's 20 now. I would wait until she can take good care of it. I just remember u have to use a wig brush on their hair.

I suggest not getting one till she is about 7 or 8.

My daughter just got one for her 4th birthday in march from my mom and she loves it and she really takes care of hers and she's only four. I showed her how to comb her hair and how she should be treated. I'm with her when shes playing with her toys and with most of them shes rough with but you just have to talk to your daughter and let her know how they should be treated and how she should play with her toys. I did with mine and shes great with hers. And she has a bunch of outfits and hair accessories and a stroller a table and so many thing my mom got her from up east at the Americana store and she plays with it all and surprisingly enough very gently. I think they are worth it. they are cute and you can get the one that looks just like your daughter so they can be twins, they can even get matching outfits. this is a great opportunity for you teach your child about responsibility and how to care for her things if you haven't already don't that because I'm sure most of us do and our children don't listen...lol. I guess it really depends on whether or not you think your daughter is ready for one. Like i said mine is 4 she just turned 4 and she has one now. i told her to treat her like a friend and we don't hurt our friends..lol and it worked like a charm.. wait.. at least so far it has I don't want to jinx it because they are expensive and i would hate to see the doll ruined. :-) well good luck and please let us know what you decide.. :-)
