My son is turning 1 year old on September 25th. Unfortunately I don't have any plans yet, since I've been busy working. I wanted to take him to the water park but I believe they are closed for the season? I want his 1st birthday to be memorable and I'm drawing a blank. Any ideas? 

Memorable for who? You or him? LOL We all want that special 1st birthday and put alot of hard work and money into it to have them ask 15 years later.."who are all those people at my 1st birthday party" as they stumble across the baby book looking at all the pictures we took from that 1st birthday party! My son slept through half of his party so there are many sleeping pics of him. lol By time the third child came we realized, ok we are doing the whole party thing for who? Us or the child? So that's when when we took the presents, family and party down a notch and we still had the cake pictures, balloons, presents and memories by pics in our own home and less stress to say the least! :-)

Is he walking? Are you wanting a big party? How far are you wanting to travel? OKC has a great place for kids with all these moon bounces inside. There is also a safari party in a zoo like setting with safari animals and all that would be fun for a 1 year old. They all love animals at this age. Or what about a party at the zoo? Far fetched, one may think, but they do awesome parties for kids although it's an hour away. :( Not much here in Lawton for that age unless you have it at home, get a moon bounce, grab some trays of Chick Fil A nuggets perfect finger food for everyone to include the birthday boy and some drinks and you are set.
I would say LOL and Comanche Nation would be an older party idea more like a 3-8 year old. Yes the water parks are all closed not sure about the splash park on post they still may be open and that would be a great idea. 1 year olds love animals and water! lol I hate to say not much here in Lawton for the very young ones. Wish there was more to do. Well Good luck and you will have to post on what you ended up doing! I know people always looking for ideas for those young birthday parties on what to do around here. 

we had our sons 1st bday at LOL they give you your own room so they are secluded and if yours is anything like mine thats a good thing!! we didnt have to round him up....but he also dont have any kids around his age so the older kids had fun...chuckie cheese is also a good idea unless the mouse will scare him 

LOL Tonya on the mouse scaring him!! That mouse scared my boys all 3 of them till they were like 3! Somethng about oversized characters and little ones! We have been to many parties at LOL and having your own room is great and the older kids absolutely love that laser tag! Just not too much for our little ones here :-( 

no theres def not anything for them to do except the bigger kids all gave him their tickets so he got a REALLY big cars toy so he was excited!! i didnt find anything around here fit for a little one and his bday is in feb so we couldnt have it at the park or anything its a toughy!! 

There are several nice parks around Lawton that you can have the party at. Kid zone you can reserve the pininc area. LOL is way to much for a 1 year old. We had my daughter's first at a big gym (we have lots of family here) But it was nice, the kids ran around and we had games for the older kids to play.
