Was wondering about the food from this...just moved here and truly miss the German deli who made sandwiches back in Washington...anyone eat from this place? Was going to stop today after the library but it already had a long line (lunch time) so wondered if it was worth it?

lol! We have a couple of weeks, and we'll be there! The hubby got us on the housing wait list already, and he will know in the next day or two if the day he scheduled to have the movers come will work. If everything works out, I have half a week to get ready before the movers come, and then we'll be without furniture for about a week while he is clearing post. That should make it easier to clean the house up. I'm worried about what I'm going to do to keep my kids busy for that week, since we'll be without a lot.

We may just have to try to do lunch together at Mutti's or something. You gotta try Meers while you are in OK, too. It's great!

OMG just checked this out, looks awesome!! Hubby wants the beer, he loves crafted beer and they have that :) 

Meers IS awesome! They make huge burgers, and the food is just great! Fisherman's Cove is really good, too. It's just a little bit north of Fort Sill. 

Mutti's is AWESOME!!! It is definitely a must for all you newbies in town! My husband and I frequent the restaurant and I can tell you the food, ambiance, service and friendliness bypasses 5 stars on a scale of 1-5. My husband is of German decent and has nothing but great things to say of their food quality. A great plate for the newcomer is their grill teller which has a little bit of everything and ROCKS! Just don't forget to end it with their apple strudel and ice cream for dessert (comes with FREE coffee that is better than Starbucks!). You'll faint from it's awesomeness! *lol*

As for the trailer- I had went there in the past and it was horrible. The potato salad was canned and...YUCK! Perhaps they have changed owners since then? If you want a German deli sandwich, though, I recommend Round Tree . They are a bit pricey, but worth the money.

I completely disagree with the Meers stuff! We waited for 2 hours for a burger. The wait was in a crowded waiting area, where you have to stand in a line and get herded through like a cow. There is no sitting and the air conditioning seemed to be just a few fans. It wasn't bad, but the burgers I get from burger king and whataburger taste the same if not better. 2 hours and $40 later I was so far from impressed. And the fries are just plain shoe string fries that come out of a bag. The cheese fries? yeah, they just put cheese sauce on it. Not melted shredded cheese. I think it's 'world famous' b/c they put it on a tin pie pan and make you wait for so long. Not because it's so delicious. And service is horrible, too. When I've mentioned this to others that have been, they agree. I think the people that think these things are so awesome must not ever use seasoning. Save your time and your money! 

I agree 100% with you on the Meers bit, Glenna!! Their burgers are so freakin dry and the place is FILTHY! 

And I won't even go into the bathroom. I swear to God...that thing will blow off one day!! lol 

Wow, Meers must have really changed since I lived in OK last then. It used to be a great place with great service. The long wait is probably because of it being so well-known, so there are more people that come in than what they can handle at times. 

the wait is long depending on when you go. I think it is so worth it!! They raise all their own beef, grass fed, no hormones. Definitely worth the wait and the money. I just went there for the first time after hearing both the good and the bad of the place and I cant wait to go back.
